Portraits of Success: International Students’ Path to College, Graduate School, and Beyond.

From New Delhi, India, Nitin Saroha spoke to us about his journey to the University of Georgia and beyond. After graduating from College, he went to work for a company, and he realized that it was not for him that he had goals, dreams, and wanted to explore the world. These goals and dreams led him to search for graduate school opportunities in the US, specifically, at the University of Georgia.

At the age of 22, he was accepted in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Georgia to pursue a master of Computer Science.  He has been earning his degree for the last two years, where he has explored the US, its people, and its culture. At the same time, He has been researching about Human activity recognition using sensors and detect the activities in real time. His approach is to find a small representation of each activity of a person and then detect the activities for the same individual or the same activity of the other person. Compared to other methods of activity recognitions this method can be faster.
